Hello all!!
Winter always gets me excited, and the arrival of winter swans really gets me going.
Not that there is anything wrong with our native Mute swans, but that yellow on the top of the bill, and they just seem so pure in whiteness, like fresh snow.
Whooper and their smaller cousins Bewicks arrive at this time of year, gracing our wetland and flatlands with whiteness and beauty.
Pictured below are 3 of 8 Bewick swans that are currently residing at Minsmere RSPB, hopefully for the winter.
No doubt some Whooper swans will join later in the winter, and with some luck i'll have some pictures to show you all then!!
Keep your eyes to the skies, swans incoming!
