Hello. First of all, thanks for the site. I've found it very informative and am impressed with your results. I'm curious about what camera adapter that you use for your camera. Is it just the celestron universal adapter or do you use something different. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteFirstly thank you for the kind words and thanks for letting me know I haven't put the adapter up. The adapter I use is called a 'Jackar Universal Adapter' it is, I would say universal as it would fit most standard sized compact cameras. I believe I have a blog post on it somewhere or you could just put 'Jackar Universal adapter' into google and my post should be one of the first there, It attaches via a thread that both the celestron eyepiece and the baader eyepiece have. If you are confused by any of this email me and I will try my best to help (it is all fairly confusing to myself)
ReplyDeleteExcellent. Thank you for getting back to me so fast. I know exactly the adapter you're speaking about. It seems to be a great option for people using the celestron f-ed scopes with a p&s and definitely better than the celestron universal adapter which seems pretty hit or miss depending on the camera. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteYou provided me a ton of useful information about this scope and digiscoping with this. There is one more question: did you find stay on case for this scope?
Thanks in advance.
Regards:
Gyorgy
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThere is not any official stay on case for this scope but I have been told you can get universal stay on cases. I have not tried or researched this so I can't be of any more help sorry!
Geraint,
I have quite a different setup. Not being able to afford to change I was hoping to make do with what I've got. I have a Eagle optics Raven scope and a Nikon coolpix 9050 camera. This is a 15.5x camera. I realize this is a problem but I have seen some adapters that say they work with any camera. Any thoughts
ReplyDeleteYou are right, there are adapters that could work with your camera, however I am not very knowledgeable on your scope so am unaware what kind of adapters that could work with it.
DeleteTo see if any adapter would work with your setup you are going to have to see if you can get your camera to a distance where minimum vignetting is achieved. Checking for minimum vignetting is a case of when you zoom in the camera should still become clear and no black is creeping into the image.
