Digiscoping isn't just about birds...

Greetings to you all,

Something that crossed my mind the other day is that digiscoping isn't just about birds.

It is easy to think it is though, as its really only birders that walk around with spotting scopes, as they go hand in hand with birdwatching.

This picture though, of a female Emperor Moth shows that insects and other creatures can make wonderful subjects too, and that they shouldn't be overlooked.

These beautiful moths can be found between April-July over all of the U.K.

The males can be seen flying during daylight, however the female prefers to roost at day, and is much greyer in her appearance. The spots on the wings are meant to resmble cats eyes, and are a warning to predators, so don't eat them!!!

  1. It will be some luck for me trying to snap a picture of a moth with 2 sec delay. Lets just hope the new remote I ordered works this time :)
